Gooey Butter Cake
A St. Louis FAVORITE! The cake was first made by accident in the 1930s by a St. Louis-area German American baker who was trying to make regular cake batter but reversed the proportions of butter and flour. Rather than throw it out, he sold it by the square, and the sugary, sticky confection was a hit. Add a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream!

For the past 30 years, Forest Park Forever has been dedicated to keeping St. Louis’ beloved Forest Park one of America’s greatest urban parks. As a “Prost!” to the organization’s anniversary festivities, Urban Chestnut chose to brew this pre-prohibition Style American Pilsner, a style that was popular in the US at the time of the park’s opening in 1876. And like Forest Park itself, this beer has a fine, noble character and is accessible to all.

Follow it all up with a citrusy-tart Berlinerweiss made with lime juice and lime peel. All three beers are then blended together in the fermentation tank to create this German hybrid.
